Description
The river Dee flows out to the Irish Sea via a wide estuary of tidal sand flats and salt marshes. Around the neap tides, much of the sand at the mouth stays dry, and when the wind gets up it can throw the sand around much like in a desert environment. This is shot from the edge of an outcrop of sandstone (sometimes known as Bird Island) that protrudes from the sand close to Red Rocks beach in Hoylake. Shot at 100 fps through a Canon CN-E 135mm T2.2 @ T18 with a 1/100 sec exposure, 5K 2:1, Redcode 10:1.
