File Concordia: Court jails 5 over cruise ship disaster An Italian court on Saturday jailed five co-accused two sentences ranging from one and a half years to two years and 10 months over the Concordia cruise ship disaster on January 13, 2012 in which 32 people died. The co-accused were sentenced under an agreement whereby they could arrange a deal if they admitted partial responsibility. The ship's captain, Francesco Schettino, has not been allowed a similar deal.
