Description
Bolivia opens its first modeling school for "cholitas" The cholitas of Bolivia are indigenous Aymara women who continue to dress in the traditional Andean way. Though they represent the majority of the female population in the region around La Paz, they were discriminated against for a long time. But since the 2006 the election of Evo Morales, the country’s first Amerindian president, the cholitas have acquired a new status in Bolivian society. One example of their growing influence on their country’s society is the opening of the first modeling school for cholitas. A natural sound version of an AFPTV report.
