Yemenis demonstrate against Huthi rebels Thousands of Yemenis took to the streets of Sanaa for Friday prayers followed by a protest against the Huthi rebels, who have seized the northern city of Amran, and to express solidarity with the Yemeni army. Amran, 50 kilometres (30 miles) north of Sanaa, has since February been the scene of fighting between troops and Huthi rebels, as well as tribes on both sides, as the rebels advanced from their mountain strongholds towards the capital.
