Uruguay: first day of school for the Syrian refugees Thirteen Syrian refugees attended school for the first time on Tuesday in Montevideo, after arriving in Uruguay with their families less than two weeks ago. They were welcomed by Uruguayan pupils and teachers who had prepared songs and dances to celebrate their arrival.
