Struggle and sacrifice on the front line of Italy's Mare Nostrum An Italian naval operation aimed at saving shipwrecked migrants in the Mediterranean is drawing to a close. 'Mare Nostrum' has saved over 150,000 migrants attempting to reach Europe, and will soon be superseded by "Triton", a mission run by EU border agency Frontex.
