Iraqi forces gain ground in Garma district National police and Iraqi soldiers were patrolling in some parts of the Garma district, in the Anbar province on Sunday, which they are fighting to retake from jihadists of the Islamic state group. Iraqi security forces control pockets of territory in Anbar, a vast desert province that stretches from the borders with Syria, Jordan and Saudi Arabia to the western approaches to Baghdad.
