EU announces 78 million emergency aid for SSudan refugees The European Union has announced it will provide 78 million euros in emergency aid to help people affected by the South Sudan crisis. The announcement was made by the EU Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management, Christos Stylianides, during a visit to Uganda. The commissioner visited Kuluba refugee transit centre and Bidi Bidi refugee settlement in Yumbe district. Bidi Bidi settlement now hosts over 210,000 refugees from South Sudan, making it the third largest refugee camp in the world.
