Last year's winning samba school winds up Rio Carnival Mangueira, the elite samba school which won last year's Carnival dance competition in Rio de Janeiro, rounds off this year's event with a performance in the city's famous Sambadrome. Two accidents involving trucks on which dancers perform have marred this year's event, leaving at least 30 injured after one truck collapsed under the weight of dancers, and another ran into bystanders.
