Protests over S.African school policy turn violent Armed riot Police officers clashed with protesters during unrest over language and admission policies at a South African school on the start of the school year. Disgruntled parents, supporters of the ANC (South African ruling Party) and supporters of opposition party EFF (Economic Freedom Fighters) were demonstrating against what they claim is racial exclusion at Hoërskool Overvaal school, an Afrikaans school. The protesters say that over 50 pupils who should be taught in English, were denied access to the school. Ten people have been arrested for public violence. IMAGES
