Description
After two-year wait, Uganda gets its new cancer machine Uganda’s only radiotherapy machine for cancer treatment has been replaced, almost two years after the last one broke down, leaving thousands of patients without life-saving treatment. The Ugandan Prime Minister and the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency officially unveil the machine. The previous machine broke down in March 2016, leaving patients with no option but to travel to Kenya for treatment. The machine is one of very few in a public hospital in the region, meaning that many patients travel from abroad for treatment in Uganda. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
