Hong Kong-China high speed rail set to open in September Hundreds of visitors flock into West Kowloon Terminus of the high-speed rail on open day ahead of its opening on 23 September 2018. The cross-border high speed rail services will reach 44 stations in mainland China including Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Beijing and Shanghai. The joint checkpoints in the terminus, which will allow mainland officals to operate in Hong Kong, has been controversial and has prompted questions over the application of mainland laws in the boundary of the former British colony.
