Macron 'spoke' with Putin ahead of Syria summit During a walk on the Charles Bridge in the centre of Prague, French President Emmanuel Macron says he called Russian President Vladimir Putin about the bombings in Syria ahead of a summit in Istanbul with the leaders of Turkey, Russia, and Germany to try and find a lasting political solution to the Syrian civil war and consolidate a fragile ceasefire in a rebel-held northern province.
