'Peterloo' is 'relevant to our worrying times' says Mike Leigh British director Mike Leigh believes his new film, about a massacre in industrial age England, holds plenty of present day lessons -- from austerity politics and voter apathy to rising authoritarianism. The Oscar-nominated filmmaker said the historical epic "Peterloo", which chronicles the 1819 killing of pro-democracy protesters in Manchester, is relevant for our "worrying times".
