Nigerians ready to vote in former Boko Haram territory The town of Mubi in north eastern Nigeria has been one of many targeted over the last few years in Boko Haram’s push to create a caliphate in this part of Africa. The government has recently managed to push the jihadist group back, but attacks still take place. In Mubi, a bomb in mid-2018 at a local mosque killed at least 86 people. Despite near continuous fear that the group might strike again, locals plan to come out and vote in the national election.
