Czech Republic: An escape game in Prague takes players on “tour de beer” "Escape rooms", where thrill seekers solve a series of puzzles to break out of closed areas, have become an increasingly popular global pastime. In Prague, an outdoor escape game takes players through the city's breweries on a “Tour de Beer”. The play is set in 2027 when alcohol has been banned for four years, and the players are looking for hidden breweries with the help of a mobile app. They find the way to a total of six breweries in Prague’s historic centre by solving puzzles on their mobile phones. The organisers from the Prague-based Get Out Fun company came up with the game while discussing another escape game over a beer. They are currently working on an English-language version of the game for tourists. The Czech Republic, where beer costs less than water in pubs and where a pint can still be bought for around one euro in some places, boasts the highest per capita consumption of beer topping 140 litres per head a year in 2018.
