Butcher friend of Chirac serves up ex-president's favourites Louis Jaubert grew up in the village of Sainte-Féréole with a very special childhood friend, Jacques Chirac. He went on to become a butcher, while Chirac went on to become mayor of Paris and a twice-elected president of France. Worlds apart, Chirac kept their childhood friendship going strong with his "human" qualities, down-to-earth approach and a cheeky penchant for making sure his fellow villagers saw the president in all his pomp. Now 93, Joubert, credited with pioneering the president's favourite meal of a calf's head and is offering a few more of Chirac's favourites, who died in Paris aged 86. IMAGES
