Born in 1913, in what is today Slovakia, Feingold grew up in Vienna and fled the Nazi annexation of 1938 before being arrested in Prague in 1939. Feingold survived Auschwitz and other Nazi camps until the liberation in 1945 and would give talks and teach in conferences, spreading warning against anti-semitism and discrimination.
