Asylum seekers help keep remote French village running For the past 16 years, the French mountain village of Chambon-le-Château has welcomed families of asylum seekers to keep its school and services running amid a rural exodus of residents. But the isolation of Lozère, France's least populated department, can also be difficult for these men, women and children who have faced wars, persecution and a perilous journey into exile.
