French strike forces Eiffel Tower closure The Eiffel Tower in Paris is closed to the public on the first day of a nationwide strike over pension reforms. The strike has wiped out 90% of high-speed trains (TGV), 80 % of inter-regional trains (TER) and 10 of Paris's mero lines. The strike, in protest at pension reforms proposed by French president Emmanuel Macron, could be extended by rail and bus employees at the RATP and SNCF. IMAGES
