'Guardians of memory' keep watch over Jewish cemeteries They are not Jews but watch over Jewish cemeteries in the Alsace region of France: a network of volunteer "guardians of memory", federated by the departmental council, monitor and look after cemeteries that have been struck by a series of desecrations.
