Description
TIROS EYE IN THE SKY: TIROS III is launched successfully from Cape Canaveral and goes aloft as a hurricane tracker. Equipped with two television cameras that record pictures over a 500;000 square mile area; the satellite will be able to warn weatherman of the birth of hurricanes. Circling the earth at 500 miles the TIROS is expected to be in orbit for several years.
