After more than 2 years of restoration work, the so-called "hypogeum", or the area of the Colosseum that was below ground level, is unveiled and ready to open to visitors. The works, financed by Italian luxury shoe brand Tod's, shed a new light on what was the backstage area of the arena and allow visitors to retrace the near 400-year history of one of the most iconic monuments in the world.
