Health officials for the French Mediterranean island of Corsica say they are providing more intensive care beds for Covid patients and mobilising medical staff, as a fourth wave of Covid infections spreads across the country. The prefect of South Corsica, Pascal Lelarge, adds that outdoor mask wearing is compulsory "wherever it's obvious", that certain establishments will be closed from 1 a.m. and that "unbridled festive events" will be forbidden.
