Ethiopian performance artists heed a "national call" issued this week by Prime minister Abiy Ahmed to "deploy all means necessary" to defeat dissident forces from the country’s war-scarred Tigray region. In the case of these performers, that means "emboldening the frightened with music", as they show their skills to Addis Ababa city officials before heading to the frontline of the Tigray conflict to motivate new military recruits.
