Description
In the western city of Herat, about 50 women take to the streets in a rare, act of defiance, demanding the right to work and protesting the lack of women's participation in the Taliban's new government. It comes as the Islamist militants say they are close to forming their cabinet.
"It is our right to have education, work and security. We are not afraid, we are united," the protesters chant in unison.
"The right and the latest achievements of women, which we have worked and fought for over 20 years, must not be ignored," one of the protesters tells AFP. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
