August 28, 1958 Original script Hundreds of teenagers converged on the downtown area from all directions early today for a free show at the Orpheum theater...sponsored by the San Diego Downtown Association. One of the big attractions...John Ashley, a recording star recently signed by Paramount Pictures. The rock and roll session got so frantic for awhile that the audience was crawling on the stage. Other attractions...a showing of fashions for high school and college students, and a film showing of "April Love" with Pat Boone and Shirley Jones.
