July 21, 1964 Original script: In Escondido at the Charger Training Camp it was picture day, and a mob of shutterbugs turned out to get shots of the returning AFL champs. Here's Don Norton showing to to catch one of those Tobin Rote passes. This morning the Charger veterans will begin regular practice, sharpening up their passing and kicking--getting read for that pre-season opener with the Denver Broncos August 8th in Balboa Stadium. And of course, that Charger running attack will get a workout too. Miss San Diego Darice Tippets was there to lend some beauty to picture day and test John Hadl's reflexes.Here's the Charger defensive line, including such big guns as defensive tackle Ernie Ladd, defensive end Earl Faison and another big fella, defensive end Bob Petrich.
