Description
12-5-1981. One of the most special and unique things about San Diego are the neighborhood signs. In 1981, the decades old Normal Heights sign was looking a little shabby. So a "garage" sale popped up on 33rd and Adams to raise money to refurbish it. $1200 was needed to paint it and add neon lights so it could be seen at night. News 8's Bridget Asaro said the new sign was only the start of plans for Normal Heights. The Normal Heights Community Association planned to add new trees and underground cables.
