Description
"Global warming has shifted the cycle of the vine and we have sweeter, less acidic and less aromatic grapes": in the French wine stronghold of Bordeaux, Portuguese Touriga Nacional and Tinto Cao are now growing alongside the traditional grape varieties Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. This large-scale INRAE (National Institute for Agricultural Research) experiment, which began ten years ago, is designed to measure the potential for exotic or ancient grape varieties in the face of climate change.
