At a petrol station in Germany, high prices are on display as the cost of diesel reaches a record high, in the wake of oil price rises on the back of a recovery in global demand. On Sunday, a litre of diesel cost an average of 1.555 euros, one cent more than the previous record set on 26 August 2012, according to the ADAC automobile association. IMAGES
