Equatorial Guinea's ruling PDGE will decide 'internally' on candidates for 2023 elections, President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo says in a news conference following a party congress that failed to make a presidential nomination. Obiang -- at 42 years in power the world's longest-serving head of state outside of monarchs -- was tipped for his party's endorsement for a sixth term, after earlier speculation his son and vice president, Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, might be tipped to succeed him.
