Description
While figures are declining globally, the number of lions in South Africa is increasing every year. The country has 3,500 lions in the wild, which is 17% of the world population. Small South African reserve parks protect about 700 lions in the country alone, but the prides must be carefully managed to avoid overpopulation and in-breeding.
