"We had no choice - we stayed on the hill and heard our town getting destroyed," says Tongan evacuee Sione Vailea whose island was left devastated by the volcanic eruption of January 15 and tsunami that it triggered. Vailea was among the dozens living on Mango island, the closest inhabited piece of land to the volcano.
