Volunteers at the Winter Olympics say they count themselves "lucky" and are "proud" to make up a vital part of the Beijing 2022 support system. Wearing identical blue and white uniforms, they can be found scattered around the Olympic media centre and competition venues to guide, help and tackle all kinds of Games-related inquiries. Local authorities cherry-picked a niche of just 19,000 out of the more than one million people who applied, most of whom are university students, although not all of them are in the Olympic bubble.
