Description
Hong Kong begins implementing a vaccine pass system to restaurants, shopping malls, supermarkets and other establishments on Thursday. Residents are required to be vaccinated in order to enter the affected premises, and scanning of the controversial contact tracing "LeaveHomeSafe" app becomes mandatory. The densely populated metropolis is in the throes of its worst-ever Covid wave, registering thousands of cases every day, overwhelming hospitals and government efforts to isolate all infected people in dedicated units.
