Beijing on Monday said that President Xi Jinping congratulated his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron on his re-election, adding to world leader's well-wishes after the defeat of far-right leader Marine Le Pen at the polls. It also said the advance team of the UN Human Rights High Commissioner's Office arrived in China on April 25 to prepare for its chief Michelle Bachelet's visit in May, and China opposes any "political manipulation" over the visit.
