Members of the emergency services inspect a burnt commercial building in New Delhi after a blaze killed at least 27 people and left dozens injured.
"There is a possibility that they couldn't escape due to smoke and gases. There was a single staircase and that made their escape impossible," says an official at the Delhi Fire Service.
The large fire broke out at a four-storey building in the Indian capital in the late afternoon on Friday, but its cause was not immediately clear. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
