With Spain in the grips of a severe heatwave, Seville's carriage horses are suffering. Horse-drawn carriages are a popular tourist attraction in the southern Spain city, but with temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius, coachmen are having to take extra precautions. German Martin, founder of an animal sanctuary in the nearby city of Umbrete, calls for more shaded areas and more checks to ensure that horses get a proper rest between tours. IMAGES
