Description
Faithful and tourists participate in the Corpus Christi procession where people make colourful carpets using sawdust, paint, salt and coffee. According to anthropologist Frederico Moreira, the Feast of Corpus Christi is the main Catholic festival of the year in Sabara, a city in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte, state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. After the procession, a class is held to teach how the rugs are made for those who want to learn, regardless of age. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
