It's a rather special snack for the animals in the Sainte-Croix wildlife park in Moselle, north-eastern France, in the middle of a heat wave: fruit ice lollies, hung on ropes for the lemurs. "It gives them pleasure and refreshes them", explains the keeper Marc Quessada. In the reindeer enclosure, he has installed fans "that blow, when it is hot, day and night". IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
