Firefighters battle the remnants of a wildfire in the Valle de Arlanza in Spain's northern province of Burgos. Rescue workers battled to save the historic Abbey of Santo Domingo de Silos, which was almost burned down by the fire. The Spanish national weather office said the relentless heatwave since July 9 and the lack of rain since the start of the year across the Iberian Peninsula meant there was an "extreme" risk of fires.
