"I am surprised that the extreme left, instead of being able to protect, to support our police officers, who have been violated in an unacceptable way in this district of Lyon... prefers to side with this foreign delinquent than with the police in general," says French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin questioned about the arrest of a foreign suspect who was briefly arrested, but later cleared, after an attack on two police officers in Lyon.
