Description

A wildfire rages in the Serra da Estrela natural park, a mountainous region in central Portugal designated by Unesco. More than a thousand firefighters were mobilised on Wednesday to try to control the fire that has been devastating the region for several days. The fire broke out on Saturday in the municipality of Covilha and has already destroyed at least 3,000 hectares of forest and brush. IMAGES
