French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne visits the Gironde region, which has been devastated by wildfires for the second time this summer. Borne announces that two additional water bombers will be deployed at the end of the week, bringing the total number of aircraft to nine, in order to fight the blaze, which has already consumed 6,000 hectares of land and required the evacuation of 10,000 people.
