Description
Professor Robert Hazell of UCL’s Constitution Unit believes that the future role of Charles, as King of England, will have to "change enormously" given his mother Queen Elizabeth II's "very, very long reign." "When she became Queen in 1952, she was a glamorous young woman in her mid-20s, only fairly recently married. Whereas Charles, who has waited such a long time for the succession, when he becomes king he will be an old man, and I can say this, we are exactly the same age, born in the same year, he’ll be an unattractive old man," Hazell adds in a previously unpublished interview with AFP from August 2021.
