Description
Philippines president Ferdinand Marcos Jr. visits the southern city of Cotabato to lead the ceremonial parliament opening of the Bangsamoro, an autonomous Muslim region led by former rebels.
Former rebels from the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) are leading a transitional government for an additional three years after then President Rodrigo Duterte approved a law resetting elections to 2025.
Marcos has appointed last month the 80-member transition team that comprise the parliament, led by former MILF Chairman Ahod Ebrahim as the parliament's chief minister. IMAGES
