Description
Ukrainian investigators have uncovered more than 440 graves at a site in a forest outside the formerly Russian-occupied city of Izyum. Kharkiv prosecutor Yevgen Sokolov, who is leading the investigation, says he does not have an exact for those thought to have suffered a violent death. "This work is still ongoing," he says. Of the bodies so far exhumed, he says, "most of them have wounds from shelling and explosions", while others have suffered "injuries from sharp objects, and others signs of violent deaths", he adds. Asked about evidence of violent deaths, Sokolov says: "One soldier with his hands tied behind his back, one with rope on the neck and his limbs broken." The exhumations and investigation continues.
