Description
In an 18th century palace, some sixty people receive their citizenship booklet from the prefect and become fully French. Apart from a few similar but exceptional events at the Pantheon, this is the first time that such a ceremony has taken place under an illustrious roof. This follows an agreement between the Office of Immigration and Integration and the Centre for National Monuments, which aims to enable naturalised foreigners to take ownership of French heritage. In 2021, 130.000 people acquired nationality, of which 74.000 through naturalisation. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
