Description
Small villages in Brittany are attracting commuters with lower petrol prices. Local councils have decided to become owners and managers of petrol stations, meaning they can offer more competitive rates to people who want to shop locally. "We saw a significant increase in consumption in 2022," Trébry's mayor tells AFP, adding, "it means the service is working well." "There was a time when it was more expensive at the small petrol stations in the villages, but now it's cheaper," a local resident reveals. "It's much less hassle than going to a petrol station at a supermarket where you sometimes have to wait up to 10 or 15 minutes," adds the mayor of Le Mené. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES ARRANGED IN SEQUENCES
